Abstract
Ali Asadi is one of the experts in the fields of social sciences and communications, who has experienced and studied Iran before and after the Islamic Revolution, and in his opinion, a significant system of thought can be extracted about the development of Iran. In this article, by reviewing Asadi's developmental ideas, his views are categorized in terms of development, transition period, technology, communication, culture and underdevelopment. Asadi proposes a comprehensive and technology-oriented development model for Iran. Despite understanding the issues of development for developing countries, he believes that with a strong nation-state, the steps of economic, political, cultural and technological development should be realized on the basis of a comprehensive strategic plan. His approach to development is somewhat close to the linear approaches to development. He measures development by global standards and the use of technology, and believes that each country must develop in its own way, according to its own ecological and traditional conditions.
