English

Digital well-being is an emerging concept that has attracted the attention of researchers in various fields and its scientific use has increased. However, it remains a vague concept whose definitions vary wildly.

For example, in terms of scope, some researchers interpret digital well-being in a very broad sense that includes a multitude of effects of digital media on well-being. This article examines different definitions of digital well-being, which includes creating a healthy relationship with technology and identifying its positive and negative effects.

In this regard, electronic databases such as web of science, scopous, science direct, pub med and google scholar search engine were searched by conceptual review method. A total of 43 articles were selected for the final review. Digital well-being includes three aspects of acquiring (digital) well-being using technology, learning (digital) well-being to use technology, quantifying (digital) well-being using technology. Having a healthy life means having complete control and thus avoiding falling into irrational behaviors.

What is desirable is to be productive and efficient. Inefficiency is the main harm caused by technological devices. People overuse their devices because they lose control over their use. Therefore, self-control is suggested as an effective solution in dealing with technology.
