چکیده
چکیده
این مقاله نقشه و طرحی از حوزه‌هایی فکری ارائه می‌دهد که تقریباً به تاریخ فرهنگی نزدیک هستند. جدا کردن تاریخ فرهنگی از تاریخ فکری، تاریخ اجتماعی و تاریخ سیاسی، باستان‌شناسی و تاریخ‌های فعالیت‌هایی مثل هنر، ادبیات، زبان و دین، که در گروه‌های تاریخ یا در سایه «مطالعات دیداری»، «مطالعات دینی» یا «مطالعات فرهنگی» بررسی می‌شوند، سخت و دشوار است. تمامی این همسایگان «حلقه داخلی» را تشکیل می‌دهند که به تفصیل به بحث گذاشته شده‌اند. آن سوی حلقه داخلی «حلقه میانی» قرار دارد که رشته‌هایی مثل انسان‌شناسی، قوم‌شناسی، جامعه‌شناسی، علوم سیاسی و جغرافیا را دربر می‌گیرد. گرچه این رشته‌ها از تاریخ فرهنگی جدا هستند، اما تأثیر چشمگیری بر آن گذاشته‌اند. فراتر از این دو حلقه «حلقه بیرونی» جای دارد که مورخان فرهنگی اخیراً به آن پی برده‌اند و شامل روان‌شناسی، مطالعات شناختی، علم اعصاب و زیست شناسی می‌شود. تأثیر این حلقه بیرونی بر تاریخ فرهنگی همچنان مبهم و نامشخص است.
