Abstract
The media, both visual, audio and written, play an important role in guiding public opinions and opinions. Since women make up half of human societies and have had the opportunity to play a role in various fields of social life more than in the past, the representation of women in the media can be analyzed from different dimensions. Meanwhile, the way women are represented in various media, including news websites, has not been ineffective in guiding public opinion and forming a new identity for women. In the current research, the representation of Iranian women on the BBC Persian website in 2013 and 2014 has been investigated. In this research, using the content analysis method, the representation of the role of women in media content is discussed. The results of this research show that the BBC Persian news website in two consecutive years 1399-1400, the main image it presents of Iranian women is a negative image in which women are in a bad situation and have issues and problems in different fields. Many are struggling. Therefore, faced with such a situation, women have either protested or emigrated from the country. On the other hand, a smaller percentage of the news in these media presented a positive image of Iranian women, and compared to the negative representation of women, the positive representation of the status of women in Iranian society occupied a smaller percentage of BBC Persian news.
