Abstract
For integrity and Solidarity, Understanding the components and attributes of national identity of Iran is very important because national identity is a concept that tries to reduce the conflicts in group and ethnic identities in a way that converge them into a higher identity, the national identity. The bullet-telecommunications theory emphasizes the formation of media-based identity. In contrast, some experts point to the power of information analysis and the culture of media efficiency. Some have also emphasized the equilibrium approach to the dual and contradictory role of the media in shaping and erosion of national identity. Considering the above, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the role and influence of media on national identity using descriptive-analytical method. To achieve this goal, the first is to understand the press and the media, the late comprehension of identity, the nature of national identity and the nature of media, the relationship between media and culture. In the analysis of information, media communication and national identities were examined with a cultural approach and finally, conclusions and suggestions are addressed. The results of the research show that the interaction of culture and media is rooted in the history of human life. In history, human beings have used the media to convey their message and have expanded their culture.
