Cultural revolution and parallel university institutions in Iran

Abstract
More than four decades have passed since the Islamic revolution of Iran, the cultural revolution is the most important cultural event in the history of this revolution. A revolution that can be divided into before and after the policies, programs, approaches and methodological principles of higher education in Iran.



Perhaps the most effective consequence of any historical decision is the establishment of institutions of its aftermath; which are sometimes objective and formal institutions (old institutionalists), and sometimes they will lead to the creation of rules, restrictions and limitations (new institutionalists).



In this study, in order to investigate the history of parallel institutions, and with the aim of describing the historical changes during the period of the cultural revolution, the document study method has been used.



The emphasis of the study is that the institutions that were born in the context of the cultural revolution in universities had many characteristics of effective institutions and have maintained the characteristics of effectiveness and effectiveness of institutional models until today.



According to the division of this study, these parallel institutions formed under the Cultural Revolution can be divided into two categories: 1- parallel universities and 2- new or alternative missions.



In the first category, the universities that were closed during the Cultural Revolution were measured, and in the second category, the missions that were initially determined with a temporary model and then Powerful institutions have been formed around them.
