Abstract

The purpose of the present research is to meta-analyze the research conducted in the field of the relationship between social networks and social health, in order to estimate the size of the effect of social networks on social health.

The statistical population of the research was made up of all the researches conducted until the end of the fall of 1401 in the field of the subject under study. Through purposeful sampling, 12 studies that had suitable characteristics were selected for inclusion in the meta-analysis. In order to analyze the data, the second edition of the comprehensive meta-analysis (CMA) software was used, and due to the heterogeneity between the studies, the random effects model was used to combine the results and reach the effect size.

The estimated effect size is 0.173, which according to Cohen's interpretation system is within the confidence range at an average level. Due to the heterogeneity of the studies, the variables of "participants and geographic area" were included in the analysis as moderating variables, the results of which showed that social networks among students have the most reducing effect on social health, and the influence of social networks on social health It has been more in the east of the country than in other regions of the country.

One of the basic prerequisites for the social health of the people of the society and consequently the comprehensive growth and development of the societies is the correct and optimal use of social networks combined with media literacy.
